Reviving our seas through innovation for a sustainable future

20 - 21 January 2025, W5 Belfast

This two-day scientific conference will highlight the latest research in marine science affecting the coasts of Northern Ireland, focussing on three major themes: restoration and conservation of marine habitats, marine spatial planning and innovation in Marine Science.

The conference theme, ‘Reviving our seas through innovation for a sustainable future’ is motivated by the need to ‘Bring Nature Back’ supported by the growing acknowledgement of the intrinsic link between the marine environment and life on land. In our changing climate, the need to support both sustainable development and biodiversity of our seas in Northern Ireland is paramount.

Over the two days, talks, posters and keynotes will highlight the latest scientific developments and promote the most pressing issues facing our coasts.
