Events Volunteers
We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to occasionally attend events like open days, fairs and talks alongside our membership team, on a flexible basis and at a time of your choosing.
Main responsibilities:
- Facilitate free nature craft activities with children and young people at our own and third-party community engagement events.
- Act as a positive ambassador for Ulster Wildlife.
- Support with membership recruitment taking place at events.
- Promote the idea of members of the public becoming supporters of Ulster Wildlife.
Ulster Wildlife will provide the volunteer with all the necessary information, materials and support to carry out this work.
Skills required: Previous experience facilitating craft activities and interacting with the public would be beneficial however support and guidance will be provided. Experience of representing a group or organisation in a public setting would be very useful but not essential. Volunteers should enjoy interacting with the public, be interested in the environment, have a friendly and positive disposition and enjoy working as part of a small engagement team.
Hours: Volunteers will be emailed a list of upcoming events and activities on a regular basis and can choose to volunteer at the events of their choosing at times that best suit them. Please note the majority of events take place at weekends. There is no minimum monthly volunteering commitment required.
Place of Volunteering: Various. Events happen at various locations throughout the province. Volunteers can choose to come along to whichever events are convenient to them.
Expenses: Volunteers can claim for all receipted out of pocket expenses and Ulster Wildlife will provide the necessary materials to carry out the role. Volunteers can claim mileage to and from events up to a maximum of 30 miles per day return trip.
