Bring Nature Back - creating a wilder future for us all
Nature is in crisis and declining at rates unprecedented in human history. It’s no longer enough to simply slow the loss of the natural world, we must actively reverse it's decline.
This World Earth Day, Ulster Wildlife is launching its strategy to 2030 to help slow, but also reverse, the decline of our wildlife and wild places here in Northern Ireland - to Bring Nature Back.
Over the last 40 years Ulster Wildlife has worked, with the support of almost 14,000 members, to deliver impactful change for nature by protecting and enhancing habitats and species, both on land and sea. The next decade will be vital for nature's recovery and creating bigger, more joined up spaces for nature is going to be key.
A wilder future where people and nature are thriving together
By building partnerships with individuals, local communities, landowners, farmers and businesses Ulster Wildlife will work to ensure that at least 30% of land and 30% of seas are protected, connected and managed for nature by 2030.
Focussing on three key themes, Nature, People and Climate we must build upon previous work and develop new plans over the coming decade to Bring Nature Back
Jennifer Fulton, Ulster Wildlife CEO says " As well as a climate emergency, we are also facing a global ecological emergency. In order to achieve natures recovery, we must deliver real change on the ground. Ulster Wildlife intends on being at the forefront of providing opportunities for individuals, community groups, farmers, landowners and businesses to work in partnership with us to deliver impactful projects to enhance vital habitats and protect native species, on both land and sea"
