The Boulevard helps nature flourish with charity partnership

Annika Clements, Director of Nature, Climate & Environment, at Ulster Wildlife joins Chris Nelmes, Retail Director at The Boulevard Banbridge to launch the Charity of The Year partnership.

We've been named The Boulevard’s Charity of the Year for 2022-23. The partnership with Northern Ireland’s premier designer outlet, in Banbridge, will provide a welcome boost for our work to help bring nature back and tackle the climate crisis.

A range of interactive public events, workshops, and fundraising initiatives are planned throughout the year to help raise awareness of some of the issues facing local wildlife and inspire people to take meaningful action.

All funds raised will go towards supporting Ulster Wildlife’s vital work restoring and connecting wild places such as precious peatlands, helping at-risk species like hedgehogs thrive, and empowering people and communities to act for nature and climate.

Sadly, nature here is in trouble here with 1 in 10 species at risk of extinction. But together, with help from businesses, like The Boulevard, and the public, we can all play our part to reverse this trend and bring nature back

Vickie Chambers, Fundraising & Communications Manager, at Ulster Wildlife says: “We’re delighted to be chosen as The Boulevard’s charity of the year and look forward to working together to raise much-need funds to boost nature’s recovery in Northern Ireland. Sadly, nature here is in trouble here with 1 in 10 species at risk of extinction. But together, with help from businesses, like The Boulevard, and the public, we can all play our part to reverse this trend and bring nature back.”

Lesley Poots, Marketing Manager at The Boulevard, says “We are delighted to partner with Ulster Wildlife for 2022/23. As a centre, we want to encourage biodiversity and sustainability and post lockdowns we have made a conscious effort to create a mall that encourages wildlife and showcases the beauty of nature.

We are looking forward to working with the team at Ulster Wildlife to raise funds, increase awareness of the charity, and bring nature back to the area.
